Physiotherapy is a treatment based on physical techniques that improve movement, reduce pain, speed up healing and increase overall quality of life. This is achieved by a variety of exercises that reduce and eliminate pain and swelling, increase joint mobility, loosen locked muscles and strengthen weak muscles, increase body awareness and overall body function. These treatments are backed up by expert knowledge of the neuromuscular, biomechanical and psychomotor contexts of the body.
At Powerhouse, our physiotherapists can help you with qualified treatment of pain and problems in your back, shoulders, neck, hips, knees and ankles, whether it is a new issue or something that has been developing over time. To start with, your Powerhouse physiotherapist will conduct a physiotherapeutic examination of the problem area, and from this your treatment will be organised individually according to your condition, problems and needs — all in collaboration with you and the therapist.
The following is just a selection of the issues we can help you with:
- Injuries and pains from exercise and sports
- Tennis and golfer’s elbow
- Mouse arm
- Neck pain
- Headaches and migraines
- Shoulder problems
- Back problems including facet joints and discus
- Sciatica pain
- Hip problems
- Knee problems
- Foot and ankle problems
After the first consultation, your physiotherapist will deliver an assessment of what the treatment course will look like and together with you, set some goals for the program.
This kind of exercise therapy is based on the client’s active participation in the process. Therefore, the course will include relevant training, either as an individual and/or in combination with group training.
In addition to regular individual treatment, we can, for example, offer a training course that deals with things like the management of acute and chronic pain, how to avoid pain sustained throughout life, ergonomics, theoretical knowledge about, for example, the structure of the back, shoulder or neck, and what treatment options are available.
All treatments are given by an authorised physical therapist. All our physiotherapists are up to date on the latest research to ensure optimum treatment.
We work without provider numbers, i.e. there is a deductible and you do not need a referral.
We also offer rehabilitation of recently operated patients.
